We ran out of sink water last night. The water pump ran continuously (without water). So I when I get around to installing an accumulator – I will need to see about a simple way to auto shut the pump when no water. I turned it off at the breaker until I was able to dump some drinking water into those tanks.
This morning; Matt and I got Merva underway while Lukas remained in bed for an extra 1.5 hrs of sleep. The ‘slide’ over to Sointula was to be quick but we took our time and we had to go around a large area with many rocks below water.
We arrived thinking we would spend a couple of hours and then head to Port McNiel for the night – but – we all like Sointula and everything we need is here. So we booked in for the day/night at $30.
We spent some time cleaning the boat, filling the water, and doing a few minor repairs. Matt headed back into the village, Lukas went for a shower (and got laundry started). I will be going for a shower shortly (and finishing the laundry).
The latest plan is to skip Port McNiel all together and head for Port Hardy early tomorrow morning. We should be in Port Hardy by noon. Ben should be joining us tomorrow evening… and by next morning (early) we head across the open ocean. It will be all anchorages and wilderness for 4 or 5 days – until we get to Bella Bella.
