Was out on the boat today – mast up and radar on. There is no change in the radar since the software update. The radar is reversed left-to-right. So what I am supposed to see on the Port is on the Starboard and vice-versa. Going north, going south, makes no difference. The unit also remains stuck in H-UP mode. I can think of no other solution than to add a Heading Sensor (flux gate compass with NMEA 083). A Furuno 500.
Meanwhile it seems the communication between the VHF and NavNet vx2 is spotty – to the point where the VHF complains that it has lost GPS information. This does not happen when I connect things for just the GPS and at the lower baud rate of 4800. So more work to do there. Possibly upgrade the GX 2150 to a GX 2200 as that it has its own GPS. Then the VHF just has to feed AIS to the NavNet vx2.
