Took Merva to Don Mac Kenzie’s to have it hauled out for an insurance survey.
The survey went fine. I think the only big project that will happen while we own it is to replace the teak on the deck – but not urgent. The bottom was ok, as in not fouled, but the green paint was flaking off in many places and after a light wash you could see patches of bare wood in a few places. I think the last paint job was done with little or no prep. work. So I decided to have the bottom and the boot stripe painted. I would normally do this myself but too much going on so they will be doing it. I also think that copper based paint may have been used on the bronze bits.
Unfortunately – no green bottom paint so its going back to brown. I like to alternate colours anyway – shows condition better was other colour starts to show itself when its time for attention.
